Welcome to Hedgehog Hollow’s studio tour! I have split it into three parts over the coming days so I can go into the appropriate detail and point you to other posts about each area, it also happens I have three walls and a wall of windows so it all fits perfectly! Lets start with the video then I can link you to the appropriate places if you want more information! Also, did you see our new homepage? I love it, hope you do too!
First of all is the photography area, as many of you know this was recently upgraded, I did a whole post on it here, with links to each thing and some notes from Mr HH. The tiled area has been extended since this picture but they are ceramic with a wood effect from Lowe’s.
Secondly I showed you the IKEA Kallax unit you can purchase here. I have linked to the 4×4 as I have but they come in different configurations, I love them for so many things, firstly they fit 12×12 and secondly my favorite fridge bins! The envelope bin I showed you has more detail here (it was Thursday). My stamp storage is in the same bins (I have also linked them bellow), also the pockets I use for stamp storage and my favorite labeller, complete with pink labels!
My Kallax is standing on some Malm filling drawers, i’m really not happy with these (nor anything from the Malm range i’ve purchased) and plan on replacing them with Alex ones as the rest of the range has been pretty bullet proof! I use the file dividers and tags below. I will now, print the labels on my pink too! I also found pink hanging files if the mood takes…it certainly does me!
Finally is my die cutting station, I repurposed the changing table (another Ikea purchase) to take my Big Shot Pro, I love this thing as I can cut any size and as many things as I like at once, I do still use it but I have arthritis in my hands and some days I can be tough, I have linked you up in case you are interested as it really is a great product (no accounting for the user!), I have also linked up the bigz die storage and the same for thinnest, mine are old Stampin’ Up! ones but Sizzix still sell them. Finally there is my hobby lobby stand, my store still has a few of these marked right down so you might still be lucky, but I use magnetic sheets for my dies and the envelopes below (the same as my stamp ones), I buy the cheaper CD size ones but i haven’t found any larger ones that I am as happy with as the Avery Elle, it really is a get what you pay for. Again I linked up my label maker, it nice to use so I do actually do it! Sizzix also sell the envelopes like the SU ones so I linked those up too if you prefer them. I cut down vent covers with my cutterpede to the size I need.
I hope you enjoyed this glimpse of where I create, next up will be the background you see at the beginning of my YouTube tutorials and some of the items I house there. As always if there is anything I didn’t cover of you have questions you can comment on this post or use the ‘contact the hollow’ button on the menu bar.
Thanks for stopping by, and check back for part 2 tomorrow!
