I am playing catch up a little this week, but as I continue on my Beachbody journey I am going to give you some healthy recipes I enjoy on the plan, for the next few weeks I have some Shakeology recipes I have created and these have become my favorites. I am continuing with Beachbody for the long term, I am taking a break from the eating plan until next Monday as firstly our refrigerator broke and won’t be repaired for a few days so we are eating out, plus Greg is away so we don’t live on quite the same schedule! I will keep you posted on my next 21 day fix when its starts a week today!
I have received so many emails from you, some are on other plans but each and every one of you has supported me with words or kindness or wisdom, some of you have been inspired by my journey which is amazing and the reason why I wanted to share it in this space with you; I am the biggest offender of bad eating habits and excuses, I thought there’s not way it will work for me, but it really has, Greg took a photo of Tilly and I that he put on Instagram, I honestly didn’t twig it was me for a few seconds, I thought oh she looks nice…oh it’s me! I have a long way to go and this is the first page of the first chapter but at least I started the book! I know some of you have said you are interested in the journey, I would love for you to join me, whilst I have signed up as a coach I would refer you to a very good friend of mine who is an amazing coach, she has been running a 7 day sample group on facebook too if you want to see what it’s all about; so get in touch if you want to learn more.
This week I am sharing a transformation to what was my least favorite shakeology flavor…vanilla! I really couldn’t find a way to use my vanilla packs, I tried so many different things but nothing really grabbed me until this. I have called it Limoncello! That’s one of my favorite summer liqueurs and a friend of ours used to make it every year, it was scrummy! If you haven’t heard of it, go and grab some from the liquor store for those warm summer nights, it a lemon based liqueur, perfect in a short glass with some ice after a BBQ, the lemon cuts through all the strong flavors and makes an evening in front of the fire pit with good friends even better!
Vanilla Shakeology Base
1 tsp of sugar free lemon Jello
Juice of 1 freshly squeezed lemon
Zest of 1/2 a lemon
8 oz liquid – I used a blend of unsweetened almond milk
and coconut water I get in the chillers
Ice to taste, I use about a cup and a half
You can switch out the fresh lemon for bottled lemon juice but I prefer the fresh and the texture the zest and small fleshy pieces; this comes out lovely and rich and creamy. After a workout the citrus cuts through but it’s just like drinking a ‘proper’ milkshake.
I hope you enjoy this flavour, if you aren’t doing shakeology you could use another vanilla protein/nutrition shake base or even just regular cow’s milk for a delicious lemon milkshake. Thanks again for stopping by.
